You do not need drawings

Plenty of quote forms assume you have a complete drawing package. If you do, excellent, send it.

If you do not, we can still quote. Our licensed professional engineers can take a performance requirement to a designed assembly, so “here is what it has to do” is a legitimate starting point. That is design-build.

What makes a quote fast and accurate

In rough order of usefulness:

What the part has to do: the load, the rate, the environment, the duty cycle
Material and thickness: if you know them
Quantity now, and quantity later: one prototype and a run of 200 are different jobs
When you need it on site: a real date, so we can give you a real answer
Any standards it has to meet
A drawing or model if you have one

About the file upload

The form takes PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP, IGES and images.

Large assemblies may not upload. If yours is rejected or the upload stalls, submit the form anyway and email the files to sales@hpsfab.com separately. We would much rather have your enquiry without the drawing than not have it at all.

What happens next

A person reads it. Not an autoresponder sequence.

If we need more information to quote properly, we will ask rather than guess and pad the number. If we are not the right shop for your part, we will say so. That is cheaper for both of us than a quote nobody wants to win.

On timelines

Our answer on schedule is deliberately unexciting: we do not over-promise, and you get a realistic timeline rather than an optimistic one.

Dates come from real supplier lead times, real labor hours and our actual current backlog. If something slips, you hear early.

The most common way a fabrication project goes wrong is not price. It is a supplier over-promising on a timeline they cannot meet.

Questions about requesting a quote

What do you need from me to quote?

As much or as little as you have. A full drawing package, a sketch, or just what the part has to do: the load, the rate, the envelope and the environment.

What file formats can I send?

DXF, DWG, STEP, IGES and PDF. If your files are large, submit the form first and send drawings separately. A failed upload should never cost you the enquiry.

How quickly will I hear back?

A person reads every request and replies. We will give you a realistic timeline for the work itself rather than the one that wins the order.

What if you are not the right shop for my part?

We will tell you. Better for the customer to get bad news than no news.

Is my drawing kept confidential?

Tell us if your part carries handling requirements and we will confirm how we can meet them before you send anything.
