Quality and Compliance
HPS Fabrications inspects incoming material, inspects welds while the work is being built rather than only at the end, and employs certified welders and fabricators who are retested on a regular schedule. Our CAGE code is 52YE1 and our DUNS number is 879203024. This page states only what we can substantiate.

What we can substantiate
- Certified welders and fabricators Across carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
- Retested on a regular schedule A certification obtained once and never revisited says little about current work.
- Licensed professional engineers on staff Mechanical, electrical and structural. Design work is analysed, not estimated.
- All incoming material inspected Material that is wrong on arrival is cheap to reject and expensive to find after it is welded in.
- Welds inspected in process Finding a defect at the end of a large weldment can scrap weeks of work. Finding it during the build means fixing one joint.
- Dimensional control through the build On equipment fabricated in segments over months, alignment is verified throughout rather than discovered at assembly.
Why we keep the work in house
Every outside supplier is a shop whose internal process we cannot see. We inspect all incoming product, but inspection cannot tell us how another company works. So engineering, cutting, forming, welding, machining, assembly and coating all happen inside HPS.

Track record as evidence
Certifications state capability. Delivery demonstrates it. HPS holds sole-source positions on certain Department of Defense products, and individual bases call us directly for quotes on work that never reaches public bid.
That standing was earned on work where the consequence of a failure is not a rework order: Navy submarine ventilation hatch houses, brows and gangways, escape trunk cofferdams, and maintenance platforms for the Air Force.
On schedule as a quality measure
Late delivery is a quality failure with a different name. Timelines here are built from real supplier lead times, real labor hours and real current backlog rather than from the date that wins the order, and when something moves you hear about it early rather than at the deadline.
A welder can lay down a bead and weld two pieces of metal together. A fabricator is able to conceptualize, read a print, and actually build something from a print. We hire fabricators.
Common questions
Questions about quality and compliance
Which certifications do you hold?
Ask us and we will confirm in writing against your specific requirement. We deliberately do not publish a list we have not verified line by line, because an unverified compliance claim is worse than no claim at all, particularly on defense work.
Are your welders certified?
Yes. Certified welders and fabricators, retested on a regular schedule, across carbon steel, stainless and aluminum.
What inspection happens, and when?
All incoming material is inspected. Weld inspection happens in process rather than only at the end, so a problem is found while it is still cheap to fix.
Who owns quality at HPS?
Tom D'Angelo is a Six Sigma Black Belt and it shows up in how the shop is run. Keeping engineering, fabrication and finishing in house is itself a quality decision: every outside supplier is a process we cannot see.
Can you supply documentation with the parts?
Tell us what your contract requires and we will confirm what we can supply before you place the order.
